This is a silicone skin for the DSi. It fits snug and adds color and grip. It protects the surface from scratches.
It does not cover the camera lens or protect the screens.
With the cover on, it does leave the DSi a tiny bit more open than it was pre-skin, but the silicone is thin enough that I don't worry about stuff getting in there.
Yes, the hinges gap when the cover is open, but there's no way to avoid that unless you're using a hard-shell cover with a true hinge.
There are a couple of thin straps that move around some and may be knocked off when the DSi is open, but the fit is generally snug and tight. I've never had to worry about my DSi slipping out of the skin. If the DSi is closed, there's no way that skin is coming off.
I carry my DSi in my briefcase where it may be subjected to various kinds of abuse, and this skin gives me a little assurance that it will not be scratched up when I get it out to play on breaks. It also makes the game feel more secure in my hands, and I'm not worried about dropping it.

This cover is ok. Fits really well. Does help with grip on game. Adds color. I guess it would protect as far as scratches and maybe add just a little padding if dropped, but not much.

I ordered this to save my white DSi from getting destroyed as I hauled it along in my purse and it does exactly that. I agree with other reviewers that it doesn't fit *perfectly,* though it almost does. I do find myself tweaking it a few times a day, but only very minorly so. In other words, I may run my finger along the front of it, even almost absent mindedly, a few times a day just to smooth it out. It's not even loose enough as to be annoying and it's definitely tight enough to do what it needs to. If you're looking for a real second skin, you won't get it. But if you're looking for something to keep your DSi from getting scratched up, this absolutely fits the bill.

I am very content with the DSI silicone cover. It fits snug and protects the DSI. My grandkids ask to borrow the DSI when they visit and sometimes they are careless and drop it. This protects the DSI and especially when they eat snacks while the are using it. Even though they are not supposed to. I am very content with the cover.

This Silicone protector for my child's Nintendo DSI is highly recommended!! It's added protection for the game system and is a flexible cover, which is easy to apply!!
